I work on a sail boat that does this route and we don't allow motorcycles aboard, it is dangerous, you guys should really just ship your bikes with the freighters. It is cheaper and legal. But sorry sounds like a nightmare, not all boats are like that :( I promise. We are actually starting a company, all the boats and passengers are insured and all of the boats have been inspected by the Port Captain. Also there is a no drug policy and we are the first 100% legal company doing this, so check it out if you come back this way.

I think you just didn't like the captain - he's a crazy guy, but if you get along with him he's an interesting guy...!
But your trip still was fun though?!
Just write that you don't like this guy and he didn't like you and not such a crazy story!
I can't take your review serious!

Charles & Ben,

Don't you think your description of your journey borders on liable? I for one would stand witness half of your accusations are FALSE and this attack is personally motivated.

My problem is NOW I am booking trips on the boat which has been recently reworked with a new captain and crew and thanks to your most entertaining tale I have no business. So, I would like to personally invite you to retake this trip and write your honest conclusions.

One captain does not make an industry and one passenger cannot sink a boat. The new Metacomet like the old is clean and safe. You just had the experience of going with a stressed out captain after his crew stranded him. With no crew, managing a converted WWII landing vessel 17 passengers and bikes is a seemingly impossible task by yourself.

What I would like to know if you had any integrity at all is who put you up to this most unfair personal attack on a man I know personally is nothing like you describe. With thousands in damages you should be looking at a fat law suit but you somehow seem to thumb your nose at the very law you swore to uphold and defend.

You should contact me personally at the email address provided as I would like your full name and bar information that I may make a formal complaint regarding your conduct.

Sincerely,

Dario Belenfante

Oh, by the way, I want to add that I am not one of the "most dysfunctional, anti-social, criminal elements of society", the kind of friend that you say Herve seems to attract. I can testify that Herve actually had friends in high places, even famous musicians who knew him by name.

I really enjoyed reading about your adventures. Don't you think that Herve and other "crazy" people you met were part of the reason you had such great adventures?

Charles, Ben,
I wish you didn't hate Herve Guitard so much. I had the pleasure of meeting him years ago, when he was about 30. He was the most amazing man. Maybe his lifestyle and drugs did play a role in changing him, but the Herve I knew was nothing like how you describe him. I know that he has convictions and really stands up for what he believes in. To say such horrible things about another human being, no matter how bad your experience with him, is completely unfair. It's one thing to describe your experiences but quite another to call someone "douchebag" and other nasty names. I hope you realize that others see Herve in a completely different light.
